Policy for Members of the ISC Band Program

Purpose of this policy is to ensure conditions conducive to optimum preparation and presentation of events through the International School of Curacao.

Performances and productions are always a result of teamwork: everybody involved shares a responsibility towards the school and community as well as the audience and each other.  Any concert or production involves the coordination of the performers that are visible on stage, but also, depending on the event, of stage crews, production-, sound and light companies.  The companies we are working with are professional companies and their work costs money.  Entrance fees or donations are charged to offset some of the substantial expenses that ISC incurs when staging an event.

With Skill Comes Responsibility

1. It is the band member’s responsibility to ensure punctual attendance of all required rehearsals and performances, having instrument, supplies & music, and being dressed as required (uniform/dress code); this responsibility includes contacting in advance a member of the music department or the director in the event of an emergency, via phone or in person.

2. Students will contribute to public performances, ceremonies and events in and out of school as stipulated by ISC.  This may involve sound/video recordings, photographs and radio/television appearances; all parents/guardians of band program members need to give permission for use of any of the above materials for publication in any way ISC deems fit and necessary. Permission is given by signing this policy.

3. Students may have to attend extra rehearsals; they need to be responsible for making up missed work as necessary.

4. Non-compliance with this policy may result in exclusion from the performance/event in question.
